Do you want to check out the used car selection in Thatcher-era West Yorkshire and listen to some New Wave? Of course you do, and now you can, thanks to YouTube.
The same user has a bunch of dashcam style videos from the same era, here’s another one, complete with Zodiac Mindwarp playing on BBC1:

Lets be honest. It says 1984 West Yorkshire. But if you’ve ever been to West Yorkshire, this could of been 1994 or 2004. ;)

Not sure the Allegros would have commanded a 4-digit price in 1994 or 2004 though...

Interesting how almost all those cars are British or somewhat British (Vauxhall, UK Ford). With a few Japanese and German cars and Volvos thrown in. Almost nothing French, Italian or American.
In the second video I did spot a Peugeot 205 GTi at 3:12. That’s the one I’ll take.

I think I spotted a couple eastern bloc cars, which are always fun.
Pick of the litter for me would be the W123 around 2:48.

Well that area was heavily industrial, it may have been more likely for them to buy British, but yeah that was surprising for me too.
I really like that blue color on the GTi, though I’d have the double winged Sierra XR4i a bit further along the street.

Thought it was an FSU at first, but there’s a first -gen Hyundai Pony at 1:07.

I was thinking that was a FSO, too. I think I spotted a Lada somewhere, and I know there’s a Skoda, but I didn’t get the timestamps.
Pony was never sold in Murka, but they got it in Canada for a few years, 2nd gen.
